There are large numbers of ITHPs in California not working in the health care sector
Of the ITHPs working in the health care sector, many are underemployed
ITHPs will have better opportunities to re-enter the health care sector with increased English proficiency
ITHPs want to work in the US health care sector
ITHPs are willing to work in underserved communities
ITHPs can be identified and recruited through community outreach
ITHPs will be interested in a Welcome Back program offering case management & educational interventions
ITHPs are willing to work in positions other than their profession from their country of origin (e.g. dentists as dental hygienists)
Some ITHPs will be able to obtain certificates & licenses necessary to practice their profession from their country of origin in the US, e.g. nurses
Public & private health sector employers will hire WB participants
Partnerships between regional educational institutions are required to implement & institutionalize Welcome Back
